HON. FRANCIS MURAYA GITHAIGA
Hon. Francis Muraya Githaiga is the MCA for Rurii Ward elected on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.
He is a member to the following committees: Lands, Housing and Physical Planning; Education, Culture and the Arts; Implementation and Delegated County Legislation.
Before he joined the County Assembly, he was a carpet hawker (Hustler), a job he held since 2018. Before then, he served as a deacon in the Catholic Church.
Hon. Muraya went to Kianduba Primary School and afterwards to Kangui and Manyatta for his secondary school education.
He joined Christ the King Major Seminary where he trained as a deacon. Later, he joined Catholic University of Eastern Africa and Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome where he studied and attained degrees in Philosophy and Theology, respectively. Additionally, Hon. Muraya holds several diplomas among them being Diploma in Anthropology and Spirituality.
He contested for Rurii Ward MCA seat for the first time in 2017 but lost to the late Hon. John Mburu Githinji.
Hon. Muraya is family man. He is married to Beatrice Muraya with whom they have three daughters.
