Terms and Conditions

1. Who We Are

This website is the official online platform of the Nyandarua County Assembly, accessible at: https://nyandaruaassembly.miradi.co.ke. It is intended to inform the public about the Assembly’s activities, legislation, members, and other official communications.

2. Use of Comments (If Enabled)

If commenting is enabled on specific pages, when visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to assist in spam detection.

An anonymized hash generated from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to determine if you are using it. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available at: https://automattic.com/privacy. After comment approval, your profile picture may appear alongside your comment.

3. Media Uploads

If the site allows media uploads (e.g. for public participation submissions), please avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS) in the files. Visitors may be able to extract such data from uploaded images.

4. Cookies

The site may use cookies for basic functionality, performance, and session management. For example:

  • If you leave a comment, your name, email, and website may be stored in cookies for your convenience. These cookies may last up to one year.
  • Temporary cookies may be used to verify browser compatibility or manage session states, and are discarded when you close your browser.
  • If the site offers login functionality (e.g., for internal staff), login-related cookies will store session and preference information securely.

5. Embedded Content from External Sites

Some pages may contain embedded content such as videos, maps, or documents (e.g., YouTube videos, Google Maps, or Scribd files). Embedded content from external websites behaves in the same way as if you visited those sites directly. These websites may collect data, use cookies, or track your interactions with the content.

6. Data Sharing

We do not share your personal data with third parties unless explicitly stated or required by law. If a password reset or secure form submission is requested, your IP address may be included in the communication to verify identity.

7. Data Retention

If comments are enabled and you post one, your comment and its metadata are stored indefinitely to allow follow-up moderation. For internal users (e.g. County Assembly staff), profile data may also be stored securely within the content management system.

8. Your Data Rights

You may request an export of any personal data we hold about you, including information you have submitted via forms. You may also request deletion of your personal data, subject to compliance with legal and administrative requirements.

9. Where Your Data Is Sent

Visitor input (e.g. comments or contact form submissions) may be scanned through automated spam and security detection tools to protect the integrity of the website.

10. Disclaimer

While we strive to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the information on this website, the Nyandarua County Assembly shall not be held liable for any errors, omissions, or damages resulting from the use of the website content. Official documents are published in accordance with applicable laws and policies.
